A dog's sensors are exceptional in their detection ability. For this reason we value our canines with great pride. It is estimated that 2500 canines are in service today and approximately 700 are on military duty and currently deployed. In an experiment conducted by the Pentagon between 2004 and 2010, it was found that explosive detection dogs had a 98% accuracy rate in comparison to its machine counterpart equating to below 50% detection accuracy. This concluded that the machine "equivalent" was a failure.
